Pitch Green

Kayaking along shore with a glacier across the bay—

a moose calf and her mother browse among birches near a cabin—

crackle of twigs underfoot—

copper chimes sway under wisteria along a porch—

a plum begins to bud—

waterproofing the inside of a water tank,
he dizzies and climbs out—

when she falls asleep on his shoulder—

scent of piñon needles after rain—
