How to Play FIGHT!
First
you must talk
until the jar
is full of
words. Give an equal number
to each player who loves
the other. It doesn’t matter
at this stage
what they say.
Now turn over your words
so the letters face
down shamefully.
Assemble your words
into sentences, or what
look like sentences
blank side up—
you never
flip them over.
Now take turns
reading your sentences
at the loudest possible volume.
The round ends
when each player
finally quits. Sentences
may be repeated. You never
listen. You are always
interrupting. Sentences
may be repeated. Now both players
are yelling together so no one
can understand ever.
This goes on. Date night.
Reconnect. Everyone finds
the dark.
Of course no one wins.
It’s not a game.
For two players.
