Forms & Features at the Poetry Foundation: River Coello

What if all poetry is found poetry? What if our practice is research and our material, all around us? Before we start weaving, we get to source and dye our fibers with intention—finding our unique voice to lend it to the collective.

In this workshop, we will explore poetry as that shared language. We will work on an offering, a despacho, with what we find through deep introspection and intentional collaboration. In the process of enriching our stories, we will also trace our birth and chosen ancestries. Each exercise is designed to be applied not only in this setting but also on your own as you consider your larger practice.

This workshop is for participants aged 18 and older, of all backgrounds and experiences with reading and writing poetry.
