Cecilia Vicuña: “The Origin of Weaving” Performance

Chilean poet and multidisciplinary artist Cecilia Vicuña presents a site-specific performance as part of Dianna Frid and Cecilia Vicuña: A Textile Exhibition. Vicuña’s ritual performances and site-specific installations weave together art and poetry, text and textile, the ancestral and the avant-garde. Her work creates new languages in which wordplay, science, and linguistics meet to confront the realities of ecological disaster. The performance is followed by a communal conversation.
