Rise
By Kazim Ali
home flowers grew
who drew me in
this shape my tow-rope
drawn at dawn who rose
in air who dispersed in hours
days wore on who wore
this coat of sun son
worn down to dusk
who turned the husk or shape
right toward god who left this earth
who flew in waves who waves
from shore who knew my ways of rain
that seed in blue lines pool
who knew me then who knows
me now who leaves relieves
the shape of earth
from whom releaf
what rows across the sky
the I in my life relives the questions
who knows who left who’s left
