Mira’s Over It
By Mirabai
Translated By Chloe Martinez
Translated from the Braj Bhasha
Just let him go! Honey, who calls a yogi her own?
He’s always indifferent to me, sister, he makes no sense.
Girl, you can’t own a yogi. Walk away.
He appeases with sweet talk, but he won’t tie the knot.
Give up! You can’t lock down a yogi, dear.
Should I stay or move on? He’s left me neither here nor there.
Whose is a yogi, sweetie? Set him free.
Mira’s lord is Syam,
the dark one,
the heart-thief,
the adored,
the lover,
the friend.
