Sy Hoahwah

Sy Hoahwah is an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma. He received his MFA in creative writing from the University of Arkansas and is the author of three collections of poetry: Trials and Tribulations of Dirty Shame, Oklahoma (University of New Mexico Press, 2024), Ancestral Demon of the Grieving Bride (University of New Mexico Press, 2021) and Velroy and the Madischie Mafia (West End Press, 2009). His poetry is also included in several Indigenous poetry anthologies including Living Nations, Living Words (W. W. Norton, 2021) and New Poets of Native Nations (Graywolf Press, 2018). Hoahwah is a receipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
