Tarik Dobbs is a writer, an artist, and a 2022 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellow. The author of the poetry collections Nazar Boy (2024) and Dearbornistan (forthcoming) from Haymarket Books, their poems appear in the Best New Poets and Best of the Net anthologies as well as in Guernica and in Poetry magazine. Dobbs helps run poetry.onl and has served as a guest editor at Mizna: Prose, Poetry, and Art Exploring Arab America and Zoeglossia. They earned an MFA in art theory and practice at Northwestern University and also hold an MFA in creative writing from the University of Minnesota. Dobbs is assistant professor of English in creative writing (poetry) at Southwest Minnesota State University.
